Where the voluntary meets the involuntary. Where conscious choice brushes against survival. Where we try—futilely, endlessly—to shape what is already within our nature.
The Mousetrap is a loop of action and reaction, control and surrender. A delicate trigger, a sudden release. A breath that is not quite ours to command.
The sheets rise and fall, powered by a mechanism meant for capture. A machine designed for violence repurposed for something softer, stranger—an inhale, an exhale.
It’s a simple interaction. But in that small motion lives something deeper: the tension between automation and instinct, between engineering and the body, between what we build and what we become.
